Love to take it easy or need to take it slow? Stroll along one of the dozens of nice beaches. Sip a poolside drink. Stretch out with a good book. Wander through cobble stone streets lined with family owned shops and visit your local butcher. Go to yoga. Learn Spanish at one of the many community centers. Take in a movie at one of the 5 local theaters, or a live theater performance. Experience the endangered Sea Turtle Release Program. Visit your favorites at the zoo and feed the monkeys, zebra’s, and birds. Hop a boat for a whale watching tour of the Bay of Banderas, the safe haven humpback whales come to birth their calves. Enjoy a card games with new neighbours. Meet new friends at the Bucerias Artwalk on Thursdays nights, Sunday Artisan’s Market, Monday street market, and much more.
Shopping abounds from the very Mexican street vendors to more of what you are used to in Canada or the USA: Costco, Home Depot, 4 Walmart’s, 2 Sam’s Clubs, and shopping malls like Galerias Mall, Plaza Caracol, Plaza Neptune, Lago Real, and Paradise Village.
Love to be entertained? Take in a show at any one of 4 movie theatres, stage theatres, symphonies and orchestras, jazz ensembles and salsa clubs. Some excellent musicians perform here (from an award winning artist with 26 albums to flamenco singers, to skilled guys with guitars, to a jazz singer from Vancouver that has her own restaurant and lounge called Encore, in Bucerias). Wildlife watching is excellent with the huge variety of wildlife (400 species of birds, 400 species of butterflies, this bay is where the Humpback whales come to birth their calves, dolphins, endangered giant sea turtles, etc).

Adore exploring? Take a day trip exploring old colonial town San Sebastian, Rincon de Guaybitos fishing village, or the hot springs in the Sierra Madre mountains. Go horseback riding on the beach, or take a tour up to see where they make tequila in the mountains. Visit the endangered baby sea turtle release programs.
